Beginner Piano Wedding Pieces Tutorial 2/5: Pachelbel’s Canon in D (Easy version)

Classics
Wedding music on piano for beginners: Canon in D by Pachelbel. This is one of the most popular wedding songs made easy for beginner to play. Watch our piano instructor Michelle Huang at Liberty Park Music (http://www.libertyparkmusic.com) show you how.

Michelle first looks at the two sections of the piece as well as what the two hands will be playing in each section. When it’s time to start playing, Michelle starts with the right hand. She notes that it’s important to follow the fingerings and be ready to change position and move. Next, pay close attention to rhythmic changes between sections. It’s especially helpful to clap the rhythms first before you play the notes on the piano. Depending on the melodic contour, you might have to open or close your hand. These tips are applicable to the left hand. Finally, it’s time to put both hands together. Michelle demonstrates how to practice small chunks–two measures–at a time and then link chunks together.
